LYA is looking forward to its annual participation in the Americas Spectrum Management Conference, celebrating its 9th year in 2020. Covid-oblige, we will meet online, every day from Monday, the 12th, to Friday, the 16th, with a terrific list of topics being discussed and a broad range of very distinguished speakers. Registration is free but you must register before the conference to be able to participate and join in the conversation.
Johanne Lemay, Co-Founder of LYA, will be the moderator to kick off the conference on Monday the 12th at 9 am. She will introduce Chairman Pai of the FCC for his keynote speech followed by a Panel addressing the impact on the spectrum connectivity of Covid 19. Panellists represent the FCC, CITEL, as well as the mobile and satellite industries.
The global pandemic has brought home the critical importance of connectivity as the Work From Home (WFH) economy, in addition to distance learning, telehealth and online commerce, operas, orchestras, theatres, etc. among many culture activities, are clearly being held together by telecommunications carriers around the world. This panel promises to be enlightening and to discuss the role of different types of operators as well as spectrum bands going forward.
Secondly, LYA will be hosting a Showcase on Wednesday morning, October 14th, entitled “The US CBRS Auction: A perspective on the value of shared licenses in a prime 5G band”, which will discuss the results of the recent FCC auction as well as its implications for the upcoming C-Band auction as well as for shared spectrum initiatives and other Band 42, Band 43 and mid-band spectrum awards around the world.
Building on this Showcase, Robert Yates of LYA will moderate a panel on Thursday morning, Oct . 15th, on the CBRS ecosystem. No doubt the range of services to be offered using CBRS spectrum will be a key topic, especially considering the diversity of carriers and organizations that acquired licenses for this spectrum in FCC Auction 105.
